Martinique Sailing Adventure

A sailing adventure around Martinique is a fantastic way to explore the Caribbean's beauty, with its mix of French culture, lush landscapes, and stunning beaches. Here’s a 7-day sailing itinerary that covers the best of the island and nearby destinations.

Day 1: Le Marin (Departure & Preparation)

Start at Le Marin, the main marina in Martinique, known for its excellent yacht services and provisioning.

Stock up on supplies, check your boat, and explore the lively waterfront restaurants.

Spend the night at anchor in Sainte-Anne, a picturesque village with white sand beaches.

Day 2: Sainte-Anne to Anse d’Arlet (Southwest Coast)

Sail along the southwest coast, passing the iconic Diamond Rock.

Stop for snorkeling at Anse Dufour, known for its sea turtles.

Anchor at Anse d’Arlet, a charming fishing village with a beautiful beach and beachfront restaurants.

Day 3: Anse d’Arlet to Fort-de-France

Morning swim and snorkeling before heading to Fort-de-France, the capital.

Explore Fort Saint-Louis, local markets, and the famous Jardin de Balata.

Enjoy the nightlife or dine at a Creole restaurant.

Day 4: Fort-de-France to St. Pierre (Northwest Coast)

Sail north along the rugged coast, stopping at Anse Couleuvre, a remote black sand beach.

Arrive in Saint-Pierre, the historic town destroyed by Mount Pelée’s eruption in 1902.

Visit the volcano museum, explore ruins, or take a short hike.

Day 5: St. Pierre to Dominica (Optional) or Back Down the Coast

Option 1: If you want an offshore adventure, sail 25 NM to Dominica, a nature lover’s paradise.

Option 2: Head back south, stopping at Case Pilote or Les Trois-Îlets for watersports and Creole culture.

Day 6: Return to Southern Martinique – Relaxing Beach Day

Spend the day at Salines Beach, one of Martinique’s most beautiful.

Anchor at Îlet Chevalier for snorkeling in clear waters.

Day 7: Le Marin (Return & Departure)

Sail back to Le Marin, clean up the boat, and enjoy a final Caribbean meal before heading home.

This trip balances adventure, culture, and relaxation, making the most of Martinique’s natural beauty and French-Caribbean charm.
